Review: Secret Outlast Clear Gel

Years ago a colleague told me about BzzAgent – a company that lets you sample products for free based off your personal interest in exchange for sharing your experience. I have been a Bzz Agent for several years now,  and I enjoy the ability to try new things in the market and tell others about it. BzzAgent is a great example of WOM (word of mouth) marketing – something companies are becoming more and more interested in, because studies show that people are more likely to buy products that are recommended by people they trust, compared to traditional advertising. I know I am certainly more willing to seek out and purchase products when friends and family recommend them.

If you are interested, you can sign up to be a BzzAgent here: Bzz Agent .

The product that I would like to discuss today is Secret Outlast Completely Clean Clear Gel.

I was a little hesitant about this product before I even opened it, because the last time I’d tried clear gel deodorant was in the late 90’s and I remembered how it never seemed to dry, got on my clothing and wasn’t nearly as effective as the solids. I’ve been using solids ever since!

I’ve been totally impressed with this product so far. It has a great, clean smell, dries quickly (no problems rubbing off on clothing), and is effective.  The scent is definitely stronger than the Dove deodorant I’ve used over the past year, but it’s not overwhelming.

I haven’t gotten through my free sample yet, so I have yet to determine if this product lasts as long as the solids.  I also haven’t used it yet at the gym (which is a sad testament to how long it’s been since I’ve been there. However, so far I’m happy, and the price is reasonable at under $4 per item.

Caramel Apple Bar

Looking for a fun fall activity with the kids? Or just an interactive and tasty after school snack? I love the idea of a caramel apple bar. It’s as simple as it looks!

Start with a sheet of brown kraft paper and a selection of small bowls and dishes. Fill a bowl with your favorite caramel dip, and you could add another bowl with chocolate sauce. We added crushed pretzels, mini chocolate chips and red and black sprinkles for toppings. Don’t forget a little bit of sea salt for a salted caramel option! You could grab a Sharpie and label the toppings like I did here. Then, choose your apples – we’re big fans of honeycrisp, Granny Smith and red delicious. Slice them (love my Pampered Chef apple slicer* for this) and get dipping!
